Welcome to Electric Roots
I’m Chris – developer, hacktivist, and passionate advocate for open source, privacy, and digital self-defense.
Electric Roots started as a small shop for guitar and bass effects.
Back then, I helped a lot of folks from the DIY scene –
repairing vintage pedals from the ’70s, doing custom mods, and giving old circuits a second life.
Electronics have always been part of my world.
At some point I began designing my own schematics, laying out PCBs, and fabricating boards by hand.
Later came Eurorack modules, some built around Arduino or Raspberry Pi –
but also a lot of classic analog designs, the kind with dust, drift, and soul.
That mix of sound, solder, and software still runs through everything I do.
