§ 1 Responsible person, scope and principles

This Privacy Policy applies to our website electric-roots.com (or electric-roots.de), its subdomains and our associated social media channels on Facebook (www.facebook.com/electricrootseffects), Youtube (www.youtube.com/channel/UCa1fxRLaDJbqD2cYFOa6yuQ), Instagram (www.instagram.com/electricrootseffects) an Soundcloud (www.soundcloud.com/electricrootseffects).

In this Privacy Policy the term “personal data” means any data that allows a conclusion about you as a natural person. Any of your personal information and their processing are subject to statutory provisions or your personal consent.

§ 2 Individual processing operations

a)          Log files and their use

When you enter our website, our web host will record some encrypted data such as your IP address (which we are never able to view unencrypted), your referrer URL, your operating system and browser and a time stamp. Your data is aggregated in a log file which can be associated to your IP address for seven days. After this period of time your data gets irreversibly anonymized. In compliance with Art. 6 Paragraph 1 lit. F GDPR your log file is only used to provide and secure our services. Any data on your website behavior and for optimization purposes is recorded strictly anonymously.

b)          Using our Shop and accompanied services (such as Newsletter, Coupons or Live Chat)

When you place an order in our online shop your contact details, delivery address, billing address and the payment method you choose will be collected, processed and stored for the purpose of order completion. You can view this data in your customer account and delete or correct it at any time. For each new order process, however, we need a valid billing address, delivery address and a means of payment. If you decide not to continue using our services, you can easily delete the customer account in your dashboard without giving a reason.

All data that you voluntarily provide in the course of the ordering process or as part of a consultation in our custom shop, via email or live chat will be treated with strict confidentiality and will not be passed on to third parties. For the internal processing of your inquiry or order, this data is viewed and processed exclusively by our employees. There is no exchange of any personal information with third parties.

If you decide to write a review for one of our products, your chosen nickname and the content of your review will be publicly visible. You can choose and change your nickname on your account dashboard at any time.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, you will receive various benefits such as special deals and vouchers. In order to be able to provide you with this service, we save the email address you provided and your name. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time and without giving reasons via the link below the received emails. However, this also means that you lose your right to any deals or vouchers.

c)          Google Analytics

We use (a GDPR compliant) Google Analytics plug-in to analyze and optimze your experience on our website. This data will be collected by using cookies and will be anonymized and deleted after 14 months. Google LLC is a trusted business partner of ours. Please see their Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads for more information on how they process and protect your personal data.

If you don’t want Google to collect information about your use of our website, you have two options. Either you reject cookies in our cookie consent bar or you use the following external opt-out procedure which will block Google from collecting any usage data until your cookies are locally deleted.

d)          Youtube

To make your experience more fun, we use a YouTube plug-in to display product videos and teasers on our website. When you visit a page with integrated video content, this establishes a connection to the YouTube servers, which enables this provider to understand your surfing behavior. You can work around this by logging out of your YouTube account before entering the page. You can find the details on how your user data is handled in YouTube’s data protection declaration at http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. The inclusion of such video content is based on a legitimate interest in adequate product presentation according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. F GDPR.

e)        Share buttons and social media

On our website we are giving you the option to share our content on your social media profiles such as Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. Our plug-in is GDPR compliant and will collect no data before you click the share button. Of course, our soial media channels are linked throughout our website.

f)        Hyperlinks

Any external links were checked by us before they were published on our website. However, no liability can be assumed for content-related or data protection violations by the external website operator.

§ 3 Data security

One of our core values is to treat you and your privacy with utmost care and respect. To protect your data we have taken extensive technical and organizational measures such as an SSL certificate encryption. Your personal data will only be processed with your personal consent, in the event of a legal obligation or for legal claims (see Art. 6 Paragraph 1 lit. A, C, F GDPR)

§ 4 Your right to information, right to correction, right to deletion and right to restriction of processing (see Art. 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18 GDPR)

You have the right to be informed about the scope and purpose of the data collected (see Art. 13 and 15 GDPR). Furthermore, you have the right to correct incorrectly collected data (see Art. 16 GDPR) and to have any data deleted if there is a justified interest (see Art. 17 GDPR). We only do not have to comply if there is a legal obligation to store the data or the data is required to safeguard legal claims. Lastly, you have the right to object to data processing (see Art. 18 GDPR) for example within the framework of a revocation (see Art. 21 GDPR).
